(More customer reviews)Mine would not punch through plastic (poly tarp), as claimed.I needed to make a hole first, using a cork borer (not supplied).Maybe they are talking about Saran-wrap plastic.
Also, it is hard to tap them together with a mallet without mashing your fingers.You need to use a 3/4" dowel, or similar, to get the working surface of the mallet away from your fingers.This could use an included tool for the job -- one that would position the top grommet half and transmit the mallet blow.
The price is very right and they will not rust or mar plastic boats.
