(More customer reviews)My friend introduced me to Maglites many years ago. He carried one in his car as a defensive weapon! I've since owned several sizes of Maglites, from the monster D-cells to the smaller handheld. All of them served me well. I had good expectations of Maglite.
When they say Solitaire, they're not just describing the flashlight size, they're describing the strength of the beam! Compared to today's LED lights, this is one wimpy flashlight. Imagine the amount of light given off from striking a matchstick. The Solitaire gives about half that.
My dime store single LED push-button keylight illuminates better than this product. Adjusting the beam didn't enhance the strength. This was disappointing as a Maglite product.
Pros:
Beautifully boxed for gift giving (though I wouldn't buy another as a gift).
Solid Maglite aluminum casing and build
Convenient keychain
Perfect shade of blue, and not as bright as it appears on my monitor.
Could serve as a nutcracker.
Cons:
Light output is extremely poor.
